WEEKLY SPARRING CLASSES
Twice weekly Proactive offers both skills based and challenging sparring class.
Tuesday Sparring Skills & Drills Class is based on skill development using controlled contact and various drills to accelerate your learning. This class is suitable for all styles, men, woman, teen or adults who want to be guided in a supportive framework to develop a strong defence, and improve targeting / offensive skills. Recomended RPL's; at least Level 3 MTK, Blue AFMA or Intermediate Boxing or MMA.
Friday Fight Club is suitable for those wanting to step up the challenge and fitness to competion levels. Whether you want to compete in Gym spars, amatuer or pro fighting. WARNING this is a tough class, and suitable only for those who want to be physically and mentally tested and pushed to the best of their abilities! Must be Level 4 MTK, Green AFMA or Intermediate Boxing/MMA.
You must supply your own personal protective gear for safety and personal hygiene. ie; mouth guard, 16oz boxing gloves (No mitts!), Shin guards (kickboxers), Helmet, and groin guard.
MTK PRO Level Grading Sparring
MTK Sparring level grading are held 4 times per year (see calendar). Contact is touch to head and semi to body. Rounds are 2 minutes with 1 minute breaks and progressively increases with your fitness and experience commencing at Level 5 (4 rounds) through to the ultimate challenge Pro Level 20 rounds including Muay Thai held twice yearly.
Gym Spars (Interclub) Boxing, Kick Boxing or Muay Thai
Every 3 months the main Kick Boxing gyms from around Melbourne get together for a friendly gym spar. 2 x 90 second rounds at semi contact in the ring with an opponent from another gym matched toi your height weight and experience. This is a great learning excercise that is safe and gives everyone the oppurtunity to experience the fear, nerves and adrenalin of a bout. You must be level 4 MTK or Had over 40 hours boxing experience.
Proactive Fight Club: Full Contact Kick Boxing / Muay Thai / Boxing
Proactive have an awesome fight record, with over 80% win rate in full contact bouts in Melbourne, Darwin and Thailand! This is full contact and requires professional level fitness and conditioning. You will need gym spar experience, full medical, registration and 100% commitment to training 6 days per week, platinum member with no excuses. Proactives mission is to protect our members. And thus If you are not ready or fully prepared, you do not fight at this level. But if you are fit skilled and proficient you will be guaranteed a professional level preparation, even matching and support leading up to, during and after the event to give you the edge.
